Lauren Wise begins her fourth year with the UMW Athletic Training staff as the newly appointed Associate Athletic Trainer. Lauren earned a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Old Dominion University in 2009. She then went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2011.
Prior to coming to UMW, she worked for the United States Naval Academy football and men's lacrosse teams. She was the 2012 recipient of the Red "Romo" Scholarship award. This scholarship is awarded to an athletic trainer who shows exemplary work ethic and dedication to the profession of athletic training. During her time as a graduate student, she worked with VCU women's basketball team and University of Richmond football team. She was an important member of the Virginia Union University athletic training department as a student working with the football, softball, and men's and women's basketball teams.
Wise is BOC Certified; holds a license with the Virginia Board of Medicine in Athletic Training. She is a NATA member and is CPR/First Aid Certified. She lives in Spotsylvania, VA with her husband Tony, and dog Hardy.
