UMW Rowing Teams Compete at Occoquan Challenge

The University of Mary Washington men's and women's rowing teams competed at the Occoquan Challenge Regatta on Sunday, with several top results.
The women's varsity eight, consisting of
Leia Strahs (Williamsburg, Va., Jamestown),
Karolyn Milton (Fredericksburg, Va., Tallwood),
Lauren Cisek (Richmond, Va., J.R. Tucker),
Elisabeth Hancock (Eagle Rock, Va., James River),
Victoria Toadvine (Bristow, Va., Stonewall Jackson),
Daliana Gandarillas-Sagarnaga (Alexandria, Va., Brooke Point),
Marielle Gibbons (West Chester, Pa., West Chester East),
Lindsay Cutler (Springfield, Va., Lake Braddock), and
Stacey Nathan (Bethel, Conn., Bethel), finished in first place with a time of 17:14.77.
The women's club eight finished fourth with a time of 18:12.55, while the men's club eighth placed third at 15:16.49. The women's lightweight four finished second at 20:31.21, and the men's club four finished 10th, at 19:23.51.
Both teams will return to action on October 10 at the Navy Day Regatta.
