UMW Men's Lacrosse Falls at #10 Salisbury in CAC Tourney First Round

The University of Mary Washington men's lacrosse team dropped a 14-5 decision at 10th ranked Salisbury University in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament on Monday afternoon. The Eagles close the season with a record of 8-7 overall.
The Eagles fell behind, 3-0, before a Sean Brown goal with 3:35 left in the first quarter on a Dan Coats assist. After a Salisbury goal upped the lead to 4-1, senior Brent Fisk scored a goal with 5:27 left in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 4-2. The Sea Gulls then scored the game's next six goals to up the lead to 10-2 with 4:57 left in the third quarter. UMW closed the quarter with a pair of goals, by Brian Deal and Dan Coats.
Salisbury scored four straight times to open the fourth quarter. The Eagles scored the game's final goal, by Brent Fisk with 18 seconds remaining on a feed from Coats.
The Sea Gulls outshot the Eagles, 43-24, and had 16 face offs to six for UMW. Eagle sophomore goalkeeper Ryan Kleman had 14 saves. The Eagles close the season with a record of 8-7.
