UMW's Catherine Kennedy Named Third Team All-America by womenslacrosse.com; Joins Kimmelman on All-Rookie Team

University of Mary Washington freshman attacker CATHERINE KENNEDY (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Lutheran) has been named as a third team All-American by the website womenslacrosse.com on Friday. Kennedy also joined freshman ALLIE KIMMELMAN (Burke, Va./Robinson) on the site's national All-Rookie Team.
Kennedy led the Eagles to a 14-8 record this season and advancement to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, by scoring 77 goals and adding 12 assists for 89 points. A first team All-CAC and all-region selection as well, Kennedy led the team in scoring and goals, and becomes the first freshman All-America selection in program history.
Kimmelman scored 43 goals and added 43 assists, ranking nationally in the latter category, in finishing the year with 86 points. She was named to the national all-rookie team after already collecting first team All-CAC and all-region accolades.
