Dickman Paces UMW Men's Basketball Past Stevenson, 86-58

STEVENSON, MD - Sophomore forward Tad Dickman (Springfield, Va., Robert E. Lee) scored 19 points in 19 minutes to pace four Eagles in double figures, as the University of Mary Washington men's basketball team to an 86-58 victory at Stevenson University in Capital Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night. The Eagles improve to 5-6 overall and 2-1 in league play.

The Eagles climbed ahead early, and kept the lead at a comfortable margin throughout, leading 54-20 at halftime. UMW remained hot from the floor in the second half, as the Eagles scored a season-high 86 points on 47% shooting from the field. Senior Sam Groseclose (Bridgewater, Va., Turner Ashby) and freshman Bart Reese (Herndon, Va., Oakton) each had 11 points for the Eagles, while sophomore Ryan Farrar (Ashburn, Va., Centreville, Va.) added 10 points for the Eagles, who limited Stevenson to 29% shooting and caused 18 Mustang turnovers.

Ryan Henderson (Richmond, Va., Highland Springs) had nine points and nine rebounds in 17 minutes, with Brandon Altmann and Groseclose each adding eight rebounds.

Stevenson was led by Greg Collins and Andy Shelly's 10 points each.

Mary Washington will host Gallaudet University in another CAC contest on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
