UMW Baseball Drops Twinbill at Wesley

The University of Mary Washington baseball team dropped a pair of games at Wesley College on Saturday, falling in the opener 5-0 before falling in the nightcap, 2-1. The Eagles fall to 10-15-1 overall, and 4-11 in Capital Athletic Conference play.

In the opener, the Eagles were held to just two hits, a single by Ben Sisk and a double by Santino Rosanova. Senior righty Matt Abramson allowed three earned runs in six innings, walking three and striking out seven.

In game two, the Eagles's Mike Straub pitched well, limiting the Wolverines to two hits and no earned runs in six innings with two walks and three strikeouts, but the Eagles couldn't find the tying run in a 2-1 loss. Seth Jordan and Sisk each doubled for UMW, who had five hits in the game.

The Eagles will visit Catholic University on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in a nonconference game.
