Taibl's Late Goal Lifts UMW Men's Soccer Past Randolph-Macon

Senior forward Ryan Taibl (Centreville, Va., Westfield) netted the game's only goal on an assist from senior Jae Park (Herndon, Va., Herndon) with only 33 seconds left in regulation to lead the University of Mary Washington men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Randolph-Macon College on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles improve to 3-0-1 on the season.

The Eagles outshot the hosts, 4-1, in the first half, but were unable to find the nets. Neither team was able to draw a point on the scoreboard until Park found Taibl in the 90th minute for his second game-winning goal in as many games this week for the Eagles.

UMW held a 9-7 advantage in shots on the day and had six corner kicks to three for RMC. Alec Constantine (McLean, Va., Langley) had two saves for the Eagles while Matty Rocawich had three saves for the Yellow Jackets.

Mary Washington will return to action next Thursday when they host Catholic University at 4:00 p.m.
