First year assistant Dalton Herendeen joins the Eagles coaching staff after a stellar collegiate career at the University of Indianapolis where he was a top 8 finisher in the Great Lakes Valley Conference in each of his four years. In addition to being a top level collegiate swimmer, Dalton also represents the United States as a member of the US Paralympic team. In 2012 he was a member of the London Paralympic Team and just this summer swam in the 2015 Worlds where he broke the American Record in the 100 breaststroke (SB8 Class). Dalton has an extensive coaching background as well, having worked with Concord Swim Club (Elkhart, IN) and at the Bates Swim Camps. Dalton also has worked with the NCAA to further promote the inclusion of disabled sports and athletes at the collegiate level and is a motivational speaker.

"After working with Dalton the past three summers I'm incredibly excited to officially welcome him to Eagle Nation", said head coach Abby Brethauer. "I look forward to having the opportunity to work with him as he trains for the 2016 Paralympics in Rio. Dalton's pedigree as a swimmer at the collegiate level as well the fact that he is a member of the U.S. Paralympic national team competing across the world will further enhance the experience of our swimmers. Dalton brings with him a wealth of knowledge and passion for the sport and I know he will help us take the next step in the development of our program."
