Helbling, 1997 Washington College Men's Tennis Team to be Honored at Chestertown School's Hall of Fame Events

UMW head men's tennis coach Todd Helbling, who was an assistant coach for two national championship teams at Washington College before coming to UMW, will be honored with his 1997 team at the school's Hall of Fame events in Chestertown, Md., on October 13.

The 1997 Washington College men's tennis team was one of the most dominant Division III tennis teams of all time. Finishing with a record of 20-1 (their only loss coming to Division II powerhouse Bloomsburg), the Shoremen outscored their 15 Division III opponents on the year by a combined 95-10 en route to winning their second NCAA Division III National Championship in four years.
