UMW Rowers Compete at Occoquan Sprints
The University of Mary Washington rowing teams kicked off the
2011 spring regatta season at the Occoquan Sprints in Lorton, Va.,
on Sunday.
The women's varsity eight, consisting of Hannah Laughlin, Steph
Lefferts, Amanda Hartzell, Emily Webber, Eva Campbell, Jess Pryor,
Laura Page, Lindsay Cutler, and Anne Campbell, finished third
in its heat and second in the petite final with a time of
8:01.03.
The Eagle women's junior varsity eight (Taylor Wilson, Marielle
Gibbons, Katie Wilson, Rebecca Smith, Krissy Pistochini, Alison
Stevens, Diana Pistochini, Maggie Auer, and Casey
Heigh) took fourth in its heat and first in the petite
final with a time of 8:29.4.
The women's lightweight four finished third at 10:45.66. That boat
consisted of Taylor Wilson, Marielle Gibbons, Krissy Pistochini,
Casey Heigh, and Diana Pistochini.
The men's pair of Dan Russell and Zach Johnson finished second at
8:54.42. The men's four (Dan Zimmerman, Bob Ericson, Will Kyle, Wes
Host, Garrett Hulfish) finished fourth at 9:09.65.
