Davis enters his third year with UMW Rowing and his first as the Men's Varsity Coach. He spent four years as the Assistant Head Coach for the Boy’s Varsity program at Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA. His crews produced good results, leading the varsity lightweight four, 3rd varsity eight, and novice eight to bronze medals in the Virginia State Championships. Prior to that, Davis was the Head Coach of the Women’s Masters Program at the Potomac Boat Club where his crews earned numerous gold medal finishes at US Masters Nationals and FISA World Masters. As an athlete, he has competed as both a coxswain and as an oarsman.

He is currently employed as a landscape architect after having served 15 years in the US Army Reserve. He is US Rowing Level 3 Certified, CPR/AED, and US Coast Guard Safe Boating Certified.
