Junior Lauren Callison scored six goals and classmate Catherine Kennedy added five as the University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team defeated Roanoke College, 19-16, on Wednesday at the Battleground. The Eagles improve to 11-6 on the season.
The Eagles allowed the first two goals of the game, and trailed for much of the first half. The Eagles used a 4-1 scoring run toward the end of the first half to take a 9-7 lead, but the Maroons scored in late in the first half and early in the second to tie the score at nine.

Senior Erin Murphy and Callison alternated goals in the run, which lasted four and a half minutes, to 21:06 remaining. The Maroons were able to cut the deficit to as few as two on two occasions, but the Eagles held on for the win.
