The 14th ranked University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team scored the game's first 13 goals en route to a 22-3 Capital Athletic Conference victory at Hood College on Wednesday in Frederick, Md. The Eagles improve to 9-3 overall.
UMW started quickly, netting five goals in the opening five minutes. UMW upped the lead to 13-0 before the Blazers found the nets. Senior Lauren Callison led UMW with four goals and one assist, while senior Catherine Kennedy added three goals and one assist. Keller Torrey had two goals and three assists, and Allie Kimmelman added one score and three assists.
The Eagles led in shots, 44-7, and had 16 ground balls to 10 for the hosts. Goalkeepers Kathryn Stiltz and Taylor Paige split time in goal, with paige making one save.
Mary Washington will host Marymount University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in a CAC contest.
