UMW Women's Swimmers Defeat York (Pa.) 200-60
York, Pa.-- The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team defeated the Spartans 200-60 on Friday from the White Rose City. The Eagles improve to 2-1, 1-0 CAC for the year.
The team of Anna Corley, Hannah Hagy, Amber Kerico, and Steph Hallock opened the meet with a win in the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 4:10.83. The quartet of Shannon Coryell, Riley Scalzo, Elizabeth Lewan and Hagy closed the meet with a win in the 200 Free Relay at 1:42.55.
The Eagles won every event between the two relays, highlighted by one, two, three sweep in the 100 Free. Coryell (56.05), Lewan (56.23) and Meredith Thompson (56.41) finished one, two and three respectively. Amber Kerico won the 100 Back, with a time of 1:10.43. Lauren Wood was a winner in the 200 Free with a time of 2:02.50.
The team returns to action on Saturday, November 9th when they host Randolph-Macon at 1:00 p.m.
