The University of Mary Washington volleyball team raced to a 3-0 victory over Wesley College on Wednesday night in Capital Athletic Conference action at the Anderson Center. Set scores were 25-10, 25-10, 25-12. UMW improves to 6-8 on the year.
The Eagles were led by junior Kaitlynn Wickersham, who had seven kills in 14 attempts, with three aces and three digs. Senior Ellen Smethurst added six kills with just one error and two block assists, and Kayla Crawford and Laura Gomez each had five kills. Maggie Parrish had 18 assists, while Gomez scored five service aces and four digs.
Mary Washington will return to action on Saturday when they compete in the Salisbury University Tournament.
